Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 1 wheel brie cheese 8 oz
  • 3 –4 slices prosciutto
  • 1 egg beaten, for egg wash
  • 2 small olives or peppercorns for eyes
  • Optional: honey or fig jam for serving

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the brie in the center of the puff pastry sheet.
  3. Cover the brie with prosciutto slices, wrapping around the sides.
  4. Cut the remaining puff pastry into thin strips to create “mummy bandages.”
  5. Wrap the strips over the brie, leaving small gaps to look like a mummy.
  6. Brush lightly with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until puff pastry is golden brown and crisp.
  8. Let it cool slightly, then add olive or peppercorn “eyes.”
  9. Serve warm with honey, fig jam, or crackers.

Notes

  • Drizzle with honey for a sweet-salty bite.
  • Garnish with rosemary sprigs or dried cranberries for Halloween flair.
  • Serve with crisp white wine or sparkling cider for a festive pairing.
