Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce or hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, combine beef strips with soy sauce and cornstarch. Marinate for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Sear beef in batches until browned, then remove and set aside.
  3. Add the remaining oil to the skillet. Stir-fry garlic, ginger, onions, and bell peppers until tender-crisp.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, oyster sauce, and brown sugar. Pour sauce into the skillet and simmer lightly.
  5. Return beef to the skillet, tossing everything together until coated in sauce.
  6. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
