Method
- Heat 1 cup (240 ml) of water to 175–185°F (80–85°C).
- Put 1–2 teaspoons loose tea or 1–2 tea bags in a cup or teapot.
- Pour the hot water over the tea.
- Steep for 2–3 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags or strain the leaves.
- While the tea is warm, add 1–2 teaspoons sugar, honey, or simple syrup.
- Stir until the sweetener dissolves.
- Add ½ cup (120 ml) milk.
- For a hot drink, warm the milk first (optional).
- For an iced drink, use cold milk.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or milk to your liking.
- Optional vanilla: add a small dash and stir.
Optional boba steps:
- Cook boba pearls following the package.
- Drain, rinse, and soak them in a little syrup or honey.
- Put boba in the bottom of the glass.
- For iced tea, add ice, then pour in the tea and milk.
- Serve with a wide straw.
