How to Make Jasmine Milk Tea at Home

Jasmine milk tea is a fragrant, creamy drink made by blending jasmine-infused tea with milk and sweetener, served hot or iced, and customizable with boba or other add-ins.

Ingredients
  

  • Jasmine tea: Loose-leaf jasmine tea or jasmine tea bags green tea-based is traditional.
  • Water: Filtered water for brewing the tea.
  • Milk: Whole milk oat milk, almond milk, or any milk of your choice.
  • Sweetener: Sugar honey, or simple syrup (adjust to taste).
  • Ice optional: For iced jasmine milk tea.
  • Boba pearls optional: For a bubble tea version.
  • Vanilla extract optional: A dash can enhance the flavor.

Method
 

  1. Heat 1 cup (240 ml) of water to 175–185°F (80–85°C).
  2. Put 1–2 teaspoons loose tea or 1–2 tea bags in a cup or teapot.
  3. Pour the hot water over the tea.
  4. Steep for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Remove the tea bags or strain the leaves.
  6. While the tea is warm, add 1–2 teaspoons sugar, honey, or simple syrup.
  7. Stir until the sweetener dissolves.
  8. Add ½ cup (120 ml) milk.
  9. For a hot drink, warm the milk first (optional).
  10. For an iced drink, use cold milk.
  11. Taste and adjust sweetness or milk to your liking.
  12. Optional vanilla: add a small dash and stir.
Optional boba steps:
  1. Cook boba pearls following the package.
  2. Drain, rinse, and soak them in a little syrup or honey.
  3. Put boba in the bottom of the glass.
  4. For iced tea, add ice, then pour in the tea and milk.
  5. Serve with a wide straw.
