Honey chipotle chicken crispers

Ingredients
  

For the Chicken:
  • 1 ½ lbs chicken tenders or boneless chicken breasts cut into strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk or milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
For the Honey Chipotle Sauce:
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 –3 chipotle peppers in adobo finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp adobo sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper optional

Method
 

  1. Prep Chicken – Season chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  2. Coat – Dip chicken strips in flour → egg + buttermilk → back into flour for a double coating.
  3. Fry – Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry chicken for 5–7 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Make Sauce – In a saucepan, simmer honey, chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, and paprika until slightly thickened.
  5. Toss & Serve – Coat fried chicken in sauce and serve hot with fries, salad, or corn.
