In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and brown sugar.
In another bowl, mix egg, milk, molasses, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Stir gently until combined.
Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and grease lightly with butter.
Pour ¼ cup batter for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form, flip, and cook until golden brown.
Serve warm with maple syrup, whipped cream, or powdered sugar.
