Ingredients
  

For the Fried Chicken:
  • 1 lb chicken tenders or bone-in chicken pieces
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 tsp hot sauce optional
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper optional
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
For the Waffles:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ¾ cups milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Marinate the Chicken – Place chicken in buttermilk, hot sauce, and salt. Refrigerate 1 hour or overnight.
  2. Prepare the Coating – Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Dredge chicken.
  3. Fry the Chicken – Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken in batches until golden and cooked through. Drain.
  4. Make the Waffles – Whisk dry and wet ingredients separately, then combine. Cook in preheated waffle maker until golden.
  5. Serve and Enjoy – Plate a waffle with a piece of crispy chicken. Add butter, maple syrup, or fresh fruit.
