Caramel Apple Slices

For me, caramel apple slices take all the best parts of a classic fall treat and make them more fun and manageable.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large apples I like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • 1 bag 11 oz soft caramel candies
  • 2 tbsp milk or heavy cream
  • Popsicle sticks or skewers optional
  • Toppings of choice: crushed nuts sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, crushed pretzels, or melted chocolate drizzle

Method
 

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Slice them into thick wedges so they’re sturdy enough to hold caramel and toppings.
  2. If you’d like, insert popsicle sticks or skewers into each slice to make dipping and eating easier.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the caramel candies with milk in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and creamy.
  4. Dip each apple slice into the melted caramel, letting the excess drip off.
  5. Place the coated slices on a parchment-lined tray.
  6. While the caramel is still sticky, add your favorite toppings—nuts, sprinkles, or a drizzle of melted chocolate.
  7. Let the slices set for a few minutes before serving.
