Ingredients

  • 1 bottle white wine Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio
  • 3 cups fresh apple cider
  • 1/2 cup brandy optional, adds depth
  • 2 apples thinly sliced
  • 1 orange thinly sliced
  • 1 pear sliced (optional)
  • 2 –3 cinnamon sticks
  • Splash of sparkling water or ginger ale before serving

Method

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the wine, apple cider, and brandy.
  2. Add in the sliced apples, orange, pear, and cinnamon sticks.
  3. Stir well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight is best).
  4. Just before serving, top with a splash of sparkling water or ginger ale for fizz.
  5. Pour into glasses over ice and garnish with extra fruit slices if desired.

Notes

  • Use red wine instead of white for a bolder sangria.
  • Add honey or maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter drink.
  • Make it non-alcoholic by swapping wine for sparkling apple juice.
